Avocado Quartzite, quarried in Brazil, is a striking natural stone defined by deep forest green, olive and charcoal-black movement, interrupted by pure white crystal quartz formations. Its surface has a painterly quality, almost like an abstract aerial view of a dense, lush landscape, giving each slab strong visual depth and architectural presence.

Formed through intense geological pressure, Avocado Quartzite combines the expressive character of exotic stone with the strength and durability associated with quartzite. Its composition is predominantly quartz, the mineral responsible for its hardness and resistance, with smaller amounts of feldspar and mica contributing to texture, tonal variation and natural movement. Iron oxides and other trace minerals help create its green hues, darker streaks and mineral depth.

Design

Avocado Quartzite is often selected where the stone is intended to become the main architectural feature: kitchen islands, bar counters, reception desks, dining tables, bathroom vanities, feature walls and bookmatched panels. In hospitality, retail and private residences, a stone of this character does more than finish a surface; it creates atmosphere.

Surface Finish

Avocado Quartzite is most commonly finished in antique brushed, a surface treatment that highlights its organic movement and natural mineral variation. As the different green tones and quartz formations respond to brushing at varying levels of hardness, the surface develops a more tactile, expressive character than a conventional smooth finish.

Honed, matte and polished finishes may also be specified depending on the desired design direction, application and maintenance requirements.

Application

Quartzite is a highly durable natural stone valued for its heat resistance and low porosity.
