BRAZIL
Botanic Green and Patagonia Green belong to the same family of Brazilian green quartzite, quarried from the same geological region. Both are defined by a rare emerald-green base, but each expresses the material in a different way.
Botanic Green is the quieter and more uniform variation, recognised for its lustrous jewelled tone, layered movement and fine burgundy, amber and grey mineral veining. These natural veins move through the stone with subtle complexity, giving the surface sophisticated depth.
Patagonia Green is the more dramatic expression of the same material family, distinguished by formations of pure white quartz crystal scattered across the green body of the stone. The size, direction and pattern of these crystal areas vary depending on the specific quarry and block, making each slab highly individual.
Although different in appearance, both variations create a strong architectural statement through their rare colour, natural depth and distinctive mineral character.
Design
Botanic Green and Patagonia Green are chosen for projects where the stone itself creates depth, atmosphere and material presence. Botanic Green suits larger surfaces, where its layered movement reads like a continuous landscape across feature walls, kitchen islands, vanities, bar counters and custom furniture.
Patagonia Green offers a more dramatic expression, with white quartz crystal formations creating natural focal points. This makes it particularly effective for statement panels, bookmatched applications, reception counters and feature spaces where the stone becomes the centrepiece of the design.
Surface Finish
Botanic Green and Patagonia Green is most commonly used in a high-polished finish, which enhances its jewelled-tone hue. Honed (matte) and brushed finishes are also available for projects seeking a softer, more understated surface character.
Application
Quartzite is a highly durable natural stone valued for its heat resistance and low porosity. Combining performance with distinctive character, it is well suited to high-end residential and commercial applications including kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities, feature walls, and other architectural surfaces.
Disclaimer
Due to the strong contrast between the green and white quartzite formations, Patagonia Green can be more structurally sensitive than the Botanic Green variation. The transition areas where the green body meets the white crystal veins may be more prone to natural fissures or hairline cracks, particularly during handling, cutting, transport or installation. Once properly installed, the adhesive, substrate and support system help stabilise the material and significantly reduce the risk separation.
