Stone profile
- Rock type
- Composite (natural gemstone and resin)
- Primary mineral
- Calcium fluoride
Green Fluorite is a naturally occurring mineral composed primarily of calcium fluoride. It is recognised for its transparent to translucent crystalline structure and colours ranging from pale mint and sage to rich emerald green.
Its crystal formations create strong changes in tone and depth as light moves through the surface. Compared with quartz-based gemstones such as agate, rose quartz and amethyst, fluorite is considerably softer and requires more careful handling and specification.
For this reason, Green Fluorite is particularly suited to decorative surfaces where its colour and translucency can be appreciated without heavy wear.
Unique Character
- Rich natural green colour
- Strong translucency and crystalline depth
- Changes noticeably under different lighting
- Particularly effective for backlit decorative surfaces
Holistic Association
In contemporary crystal traditions, fluorite is commonly associated with clarity, focus, balance and renewal. These associations relate to modern crystal practices rather than scientifically established material effects.
