Rosso LUANA

Rosso Luana is a captivating expression of movement in nature. A variety of Cipollino marble, its name derives from the Italian word cipolla, meaning onion—a reference to the layered, undulating veins that resemble the overlapping skins of an onion.

Its sweeping bands bring together earthy tones of red, purple, brown and green, punctuated by touches of white. Folded and almost topographic, this distinctive mineral movement gives the stone elegance, visual tension and emotional depth.

Design

Rosso Luana is selected where stone is intended to become the principal architectural gesture. Its strong directional movement makes it particularly effective across expansive surfaces, where the composition can appear as a continuous natural mural.

Careful slab selection, sequencing and vein matching allow its flowing bands to be used for striking bookmatched installations.

Surface Finish

Rosso Luana is most commonly presented in an antique brushed finish, which enhances its distinctive Cipollino character and brings greater texture and definition to its layered movement. Honed and matt finishes may also be considered for a softer, more restrained architectural expression.

Application

With appropriate fabrication, installation and care, Rosso Luana may be used for statement walls, bookmatched feature panels, bathrooms, vanity areas, fireplace surrounds, bar and reception counters, furniture and decorative architectural elements.

As a marble, it remains susceptible to scratching, staining and acid etching. However, its matt or antique-brushed finish, combined with its darker tones and varied mineral movement, can make minor scratches, etching and everyday wear less visually apparent than on pale, polished marble. Cleaning with pH-neutral products and appropriate sealing are still recommended.
