Artificial marble

Artificial marble is a home decorating material made from crushed real marble scraps mixed with resin and polymer in ratios of 75%-90% and 24%-10%, respectively. Synthetic pigments are added to create patterns that closely resemble natural marble, but at a lower price.

Siamtak imports and manufactures various types of artificial marble from around the world, offering Thai customers a wide selection for beautiful home decoration at the lowest prices in the world

What is artificial marble?

Artificial marble consists of 75%-90% marble fragments and 10%-24% resin, polymer, and synthetic pigments to achieve patterns and colors that closely resemble natural marble. This also results in an lower price compared to natural marble

Artificial marble sheets can offer realistic patterns at a lower price. However, their lower strength and relatively high water absorption rate limit their applications. Indoor installation is more suitable than outdoor installation where they will be exposed to sun and rain, as the resin and polymer composition is not heat-resistant and has a high water absorption rate, making them unsuitable for outdoor use

Artificial marble and its installation

Due to its relatively low strength and high water absorption rate, artificial marble should be installed in areas that are not subject to heavy use or are not exposed to direct water and sunlight. Examples include artificial marble walls and countertops, but it is primarily used for wall applications such as TV walls, living room walls, and hallway walls

Properties of artificial marble

The main features of artificial marble are its ability to closely mimic natural marble patterns and its wide variety of colors, including white, black, gray, cream, blue, and red. Siamtak offers over 25 different styles

Disadvantages of artificial marble

Because artificial marble is made from recycled marble scraps, it is porous and permeable to water. Therefore, artificial marble is not suitable for installation in areas exposed to water or high humidity, nor is it suitable for outdoor installation or areas exposed to direct sunlight, as this can easily cause the resin polymer to degrade
